I was leaving the medical profession as a surgical tech. And Interviewed with Century 21 Premier. (Who is now out of business.)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I was very green behind the ears.. and had little knowlege of what a REALTOR really did. I just knew they wrote contracts and wrode around in the car all day. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I got a chance to again meet with my first broker yesterday. We talked for about 45 minutes of how the Real Estate Business has changed. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;HOW 9-11 EFFECTED OUR BUSINESS AND HOW TODAYS MARKET EFFECTS OUR BUSINESS. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Some of the Best Advice he gave me Ten Years Ago.. Jon Huntsman Jr. and 20 other experts told business leaders assembled Thursday&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;at Sundance.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;High job growth, low unemployment, a stable housing market and the nation&amp;#39;s youngest work force are drawing&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;national and international companies to Utah, speakers said during the annual Utah Valley Executive Summit&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;sponsored by the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Forbes and CNBC have said the state has the nation&amp;#39;s hottest economy, but Huntsman is most excited that the&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Kauffman Report ranked Utah No. 1 in &amp;quot;dynamism,&amp;quot; a measure of entrepreneurship and enthusiasm that the governor&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;said positions the state to deal with what he said are major global economic shifts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&amp;quot;I&amp;#39;d rather be No. 1 in dynamism than any other category,&amp;quot; Huntsman said, because &amp;quot;now it&amp;#39;s the individual who is the&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;paramount player in economic development in the world.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;That shift has made locally produced intellectual property a critical factor for growing local economies, he said. &amp;quot;It&amp;#39;s the&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;ideas that pop out of the heads of our entrepreneurs that is most important.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Speakers at Thursday&amp;#39;s summit outlined Utah&amp;#39;s business landscape for more than 200 business owners, bankers,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;developers, legislators, city councilors and administrators, health care administrators, transportation experts and&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;journalists.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman"&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;MSN Hotmail - Message Page 1 of 3&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;http://by121fd.bay121.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/getmsg?msg=D9F48A93-4392-4B3C-972... 10/9/2007&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="1"&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="1"&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Huntsman said Utah&amp;#39;s job growth rate is 4.7 percent and unemployment is 2.6 percent, second-best in the nation. The&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;housing market has slowed but is stable, said Kevin Call, executive vice president of the Utah County Association of&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Realtors.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&amp;quot;We&amp;#39;re selling homes at half the velocity we had a year ago and in 2005, but it&amp;#39;s a stable market,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;quot;We&amp;#39;re not at&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;the frantic, hectic pace of the last two years, but we&amp;#39;re also not in a buyer&amp;#39;s market.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Workforce Services chief economist Mark Knold said the bulk of Utah&amp;#39;s labor force is between the ages of 20 and 40,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;while the national norm is between ages 40 and 50. The state still doesn&amp;#39;t have enough replacement workers and&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Knold said Utah either must bring more labor in or shrink the economy.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Knold also said the young Utah labor force is the reason why Utah&amp;#39;s average wages appear low. &amp;quot;We have an&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;experience shortage,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;quot;Thirty-year-olds don&amp;#39;t make as much as 50-year-olds because they don&amp;#39;t have the&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;experience, the time on the job.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Older workers in Utah actually make more than in Pennsylvania or Florida because of the shortage of 55-year-old&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;labor, Knold added.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;That shortage is the reason Huntsman said the state has trouble finding enough managers for companies that move to&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Utah, and he said he is working with Utah&amp;#39;s business schools to address the problem.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Knold said the growth Utah is experiencing is not a short-term phenomenon. &amp;quot;This will last for decades,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;quot;The&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;gate is just being opened.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;There is proof of that as the hot economy helps Utah lure companies to move to or expand to Utah, according to Russ&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Fotheringham, public development manager for Utah County manager with the Economic Development Corporation of&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Utah.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&amp;quot;There is major interest from national and international companies,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;quot;Two major international companies are&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;looking at multiple sites in Utah, and both are looking at sites in Utah County.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;Utah has been a hot spot for call centers, but a major change is under way, Fotheringham said.
